This volume covers the years 1939-42. The cinematic Silly Symphonies came to an end in 1939, but the comic strip continued at full strength with a retelling of Pinocchio, a star turn for Pluto, and cartoon adaptations including a version of Little Hiawatha that ran for nearly two years.
